Breast MRI

American Cancer Society recommends women who have a high risk of breast cancer have a screening mammogram and a bilateral Breast MRI exam.

• Indications for Breast MRI include: screening for patients at greater than 25% high risk.
• Screening for asymptomatic BRCA gene carrier.
• Evaluation of implant integrity.
• Diagnosis & treatment of breast cancer.
• High resolution images of breast lesion morphology.
• 3D multiplanar images localize the lesion size and depth, and its relationship to other anatomy.
• Dedicated breast imaging coils.

Breast Biopsy

Two available methods of minimally invasive biopsy:

• Stereotactic: preferred when suspicious microcalcifications are present.
• Ultrasound-guided: preferred for masses.
