An aneurysm is an abdominal ballooning or enlargement of a blood vessel. When this happens in the abdominal portion of the aorta (the largest blood vessel in the body) it is known as an abdominal aortic aneurysm. An AAA Ultrasound Screening is a non-invasive 15 minute procedure performed using ultrasound technology to image your abdominal aorta. The ultrasound transducer created computerized digital pictures of the aorta and measures its size along the course of the vessel.
Arteries that carry blood to the arms or legs can become clogged or narrowed. When this occurs, the blood flow is disturbed and can cause pain or discomfort. Arterial Doppler Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) and Segmental Pressure Testing can help evaluate and localize areas affected by Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD).
